Why Lily End?

Lily End is more than just a wedding venue - it’s a place with its own story. We were lucky enough to celebrate our own wedding here, and ever since, we’ve wanted to share this beautiful corner of our family farm with other couples.

Located in the peaceful village of Great Hormead, our elegant pole marquee is surrounded by ancient woodland of Arnie Wood and overlooks the open countryside of Lily End field. It’s a setting that feels spacious and effortlessly beautiful in every season, creating a relaxed and unforgettable backdrop for your celebration

Unlike many traditional venues, Lily End gives you the freedom to celebrate in a way that reflects your style, whether thats an elegant countryside reception, a relaxed festival-style celebration or a weekend spent with family and friends, Lily End offers a beautiful blank canvas to make it your own.

Despite its tranquil countryside setting, Lily End is easily accessible from the A10, A1(M) and M11, with nearby rail links at Bishop’s Stortford, Hertford, Royston and Cambridge. A range of local hotels, Inns, and guest accommodations means your guests can relax and enjoy the celebrations without travelling far, or they can even stay on site at the Lily End camping area.

What’s included

Every wedding is different, but your booking includes:

  • Exclusive use of our private countryside wedding lawn with magical views across 25 hectares of Lily End field, encircled by ancient woodland

  • A beautiful pole marquee tailored to your guest numbers, seating up to 250 guests. It features an openable wall of windows that frame stunning countryside views and a dance floor with a stage illuminated by twinkling lights

  • Spacious car park for all your guests to use

  • A peaceful setting that is exclusively yours for your celebration

  • A dedicated point of contact throughout your planning

  • Late curfew for those that like to stay on the dance floor a little longer

Extend the celebration

Beyond the wedding lawn, guests can enjoy our separate camping field, surrounded by the same beautiful countryside and bordered by the mature woodland of Arnie wood. With views across Lily End, its the perfect place to stay together, unwind beneath the stars, and wake up to the peace and tranquility of the farm the following morning.

Ceremonies and Receptions

Whilst Lily End is not licensed for legal marriage ceremonies, it provides a beautiful and exclusive setting for your wedding reception or celebrant-led blessing surrounded by the Hertfordshire countryside.

Located in Great Hormead, we’re just a short drive from several beautiful churches, including St Nicholas Church in Great Hormead, as well as churches in Buntingford, Standon and surrounding villages. Many Couples choose to marry in church or at a local registry office before celebrating with family and friends here at Lily End.

To ensure every couple receives our full attention, we host only a limited number of weddings each season, with a maximum of one wedding per week.

A helping hand

Having planned our own wedding here, we know just how many decisions there are to make. That’s why we are delighted to share with you our trusted network of local suppliers, we even have a family brewery (Baron brewing) on the farm for the beer lovers.
